When the library opens at 10 AM head to the 2nd floor and go all the way to the back left corner. In this unassuming room you will Settle Down with Mindfulness.
Settle down, take a rest from your worries, and put your toes in the cool water of Mindfulness.
Bring family/friends and let us bring Mindfulness to them, too.
This will be a day for mindfulness and meditation:
Mindfulness means awareness of the present. For example, noticing a flower as if for the first time, with a sense of wonder.
Meditation means stabilizing your attention. For example, noticing your breath, on purpose, and learning to work with thoughts that pop into awareness uninvited.
New to meditation or mindfulness? No worries, we’ll lead you through everything.
We’ll sit together in the morning from 10 am to 12 noon and get everyone into practice, beginners as well as advanced meditators.
There will be a lunch break from 12 noon to 1 pm. We will give you instructions on how to extend your mindfulness during the break, if you want. Perhaps you’ll notice some wonderful things that ordinarily you would miss.
We’ll sit together again in the afternoon, from 1-4, and will have time for your questions and comments on the day.
