Samantha Lakin graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brandeis University. In 2009 she received a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to study World War II and the Vichy regime in France. She was a Fulbright scholar for the 2011-2012 year at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland, studying the rescue of Jewish children into Switzerland during World War II.

Laura Bernier received her BFA in Photography and Art History from the Museum of Fine Arts/Tufts University, and furthered her photography studies in Zurich. Her Fulbright project in Switzerland was a photographic documentary on the last remaining Finishing School for Girls in Europe.
