Eminent Outlaws: Scenes of the Crime, A Lecture by Chris Bram

In the years following World War II, a small group of gay writers established themselves as literary power players, fueling cultural changes that would resonate for decades to come and transform the American literary landscape forever. Christopher Bram, author of Eminent Outlaws: The Gay Writers Who Changed America, will discuss places in Greenwich Village where his protagonists worked, wrote, fought and loved. Following such figures as Gore Vidal, Truman Capote, James Baldwin, Frank O’Hara, Edmund White, Larry Kramer, and others, the lecture will provide a unique window into downtown literary history from 1947 to 1995.
