How Do We Explain Anti-Science, Unreason and the Donald Trump Phenomenon

We have just completed an election in which tens of millions of our fellow citizens have voted for Donald Trump despite the lies, contradictions, and his self-evident incompetence to be president. Uncountable numbers deny evolution and climate change, and believe that Barack Obama was not born in the United States, despite the evidence. This broad based irrationality is very dangerous for democracy. It is also very perplexing. I will propose an explanation in my address of November 13th.
