Families and Folk Art: “Straight From our Noggins”

In this interactive program, families will look at vibrant works of art in the galleries that were made by the Afro-Brazilian artist Madalena Santos Reinbolt, specifically her “wool paintings”. Then, each participant will create unique drawings inspired by a fantastical short story that the artist described as coming “straight from my noggin.”

Families and Folk Art introduces children ages 4 to 12 and their accompanying adults to folk art through interactive discussion followed by hands-on art making activities inspired by objects in the museum.
