Film Comment Talk: Varda by Filmmakers

Throughout her pioneering career, Agnès Varda has inspired countless filmmakers with her work and her bold personal approach. To celebrate the final weekend of our Varda retrospective, we present a conversation with another generation of filmmakers about what Varda has meant to them and the key movies from her oeuvre that influenced them. Film Comment Editor-in-Chief Nicolas Rapold moderates a discussion with Ashley Connor (cinematographer, Madeline’s Madeline and Feast of the Epiphany), Anna Rose Holmer (director, The Fits, ND/NF 2015), and Akosua Adoma Owusu (Pelourinho: They Don’t Really Care About Us, NYFF; 2020 recipient of the Lincoln Center Award for Emerging Artists).

Online RSVPs are now open. Skip the box office by showing your print-at-home ticket (printed or on your mobile device) to the theater usher. You must show up at least 30 minutes in advance or your seat may be forfeited.

Please note: Walk-ups will still be accepted; tickets to be distributed on a space-available basis.
