Idealism and Activism: A Conversation with Choreographer Bill T. Jones

Bill T. Jones is a multi-talented artist, choreographer, dancer, artistic director, and writer who has, over his 40-year career, received distinguished honors ranging from the 2013 National Medal of Arts to a 1994 MacArthur “Genius” Award and a Kennedy Center Honor in 2010. He also has earned two Tony awards for best choreography—for Spring Awakening in 2007 and Fela! in 2010. Join us for a candid conversation about his life in the arts as he discusses a creative process that deals with both idealism and activism and the dilemmas of self and identity.
