On Thursday, October 6 and Thursday, October 20, two special performances by percussionists Owen Weaver and Dennis Sullivan will accompany unSeen Green: a one-of-a kind, site-specific art installation by Brooklyn artist Aaron Asis. Hundreds of crisscrossing fuchsia paracords will traverse and slice through Green-Wood’s historic chapel. unSeen Green creates a completely unexpected juxtaposition of the “seen” and the “unseen” in this National Historic Landmark cemetery. The pieces will be performed underneath the paracord lattice inside the Chapel.
The musicians will perform Impermanent, the atmospheric, and at times harrowing, work by the award-winning composer and sound artist Tristan Perich. Perich’s work has been featured at the World Science Festival, the Whitney Museum, and The Museum of Modern Art.
Seating (in chairs) is limited and first come, first served. Mats for floor seating will be provided.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Guests must arrive between 7:00 – 7:45 p.m. for these unique performances. Late entry is not permitted. Anyone arriving after 7:45 p.m. will not be seated.
