This January, join us for Book Review Live, a new event series celebrating the written word. Our first event marks the publication of the latest book by Pulitzer Prize winners Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn — “Tightrope: Americans Reaching for Hope.”

In a discussion led by Jennifer Szalai, The Times’s nonfiction book critic, the authors will explore the disintegration of America’s working class — the result of lost jobs, drugs, shattered families and failed policies. Kristof and WuDunn remove their professional distance as they share the stories from friends and neighbors that inspired “Tightrope.”
