At The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Kathryn Calley Galitz has curated international exhibitions on artists including Girodet, Courbet, and Turner. She is the author of The Metropolitan Museum of Art: Masterpiece Paintings (Skira Rizzoli, 2016) as well as numerous works on Neoclassical painting. Galitz received her Ph.D. in art history from NYU and earned her M.A. from Williams College and B.A. from Smith College.
Christopher Rothko, the second of Mark and Mary Alice Rothko’s two children, received his B.A. in Literature from Yale University and his Doctorate in Psychology from The University of Michigan. He is editor of his father’s book of philosophical writings, The Artist’s Reality: Philosophies of Art. His new book of essays, Mark Rothko from the Inside Out, was published in 2015 by Yale University Press. Dr. Rothko has helped prepare numerous Rothko exhibitions at museums and galleries around the globe.
