Join Sky-Pony for a gothic concert spectacular this Hallowe’en and scare up some cash to help support our lifesaving services!
The Brooklyn-based cult band will serve up an atmospheric acoustic set complete with costumes, visuals, special guests and spooky surprises—all in a site-specific performance at our beautiful and unique bookstore, fully decorated for the Hallowe’en season. We’ll be serving demonically delicious cocktails, too.
Sky-Pony is known for their lush, lyrical, often cheeky indie-pop with a healthy dose of theatrics. They’ve been called “A beautiful mash-up of music, choreography, costumes, projections and drama” by The Village Voice and “Indie pop aces” by The New York Times.
The band is a collaboration between singer/actress Lauren Worsham (Drama Desk Award winner and Tony Award nominee) and her musician/writer husband Kyle Jarrow (Obie Award winner and Tony Award nominee). It also features the talents of guitarist Kevin Wunderlich, drummer Perry Silver, bassist Eric Day, cellist David Blasher, and backup singers Katie Lee Hill and Jessi Suzuki.
Sky-Pony’s debut LP Beautiful Monster was released by Knitting Factory Records. Their discography also includes Say You Love Me Like You Mean It (EP) and the live EPs Raptured and Songs of Love and Misery. Their stage show The Wildness ran in New York City from February-April 2016 to critical acclaim, garnering a Lortel Award nomination for Outstanding Musical.
