This program will be a live-taping of Person Place Thing with Randy Cohen, an interview show based on this idea: people are particularly engaging when they speak not directly about themselves but about something they care about. Randy Cohen’s first professional work was writing humor pieces, essays and stories for newspapers and magazines (The New Yorker, Harpers, The Atlantic, Young Love Comics). His first television work was writing for Late Night with David Letterman for which he won three Emmy awards. His fourth Emmy was for his work on Michael Moore’s TV Nation. He received a fifth Emmy as a result of a clerical error, and he kept it. For twelve years he wrote “The Ethicist,” a weekly column for the The New York Times Magazine. His new book is Be Good: How to Navigate the Ethics of Everything.

Chieh Huang is the CEO of Boxed.com and MOCA’s 2017 Legacy Awards honoree. Raised in the suburbs to parents who emigrated from Taiwan, Huang became a corporate lawyer before leaving to pursue his passion as an entrepreneur. Since founding Boxed in his garage in 2013 he has overseen a nationwide expansion and opened four distribution centers. Despite his personal successes, Huang remembers how his family struggled to make ends meet so he could go to college, which inspired him in 2015 to create a College Tuition fund for his employees’ children.
