Award winning author Lara Vapnyar will read from her captivating new novel The Scent of Pine and be joined in conversation by Ben Greenman.

Kicking off the Spring session of @MACAULAY AUTHOR SERIES events, acclaimed Russian-American author Lara Vapnyar will read from her new novel, The Scent of Pine. Vapnyar will then join novelist and New Yorker contributor Ben Greenman in an unmoderated discussion about humor, creativity and other topics.

Free and open to the public, the event includes a book signing and reception with the author. Copies of The Scent of Pine will be available for sale.

Lara Vapnyar came to the US from Russia in 1994 and started writing fiction in English in 2002. She is the author of the acclaimed novel Memoirs of a Muse and two collections of short stories: There are Jews in My House and Broccoli and Other Tales of Food and Love. She is a recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, and the Goldberg Prize for Jewish Fiction. Her stories and essays have appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, Harper’s and The New Republic.
