Machine Sewing Boot Camp with M. Avery Designs
Session 1: Introduction to the sewing machine and basic sewing. Learning to thread and operate the sewing machine properly, basic accessory construction, making straps, working with lining to eliminate raw edges, right side vs. wrong side of fabric, and working with interfacing.
Project: Messenger Bag
Session 2: Review of machine and sewing. Mastery of threading and filling the bobbin on the sewing machine, introduction to sewing patterns, construction of wearable items, and adding pockets.
Project: Chef Apron or Zippered A-Line Fitted Skirt
Session 3: Following sewing tutorial instructions for project construction, basic clothing construction, inserting zipper, introduction to garment fit, and hemming basics.
