A Passion For Drawing: Artist Talk
On Saturday, January 6th, Booth Gallery is pleased to host “A Passion for Drawing”, an artist talk and book signing with 5 artists discussing their motivations for drawing people, places and things.
Conversations with artists Kurt Kauper, Steve Assael, Maria Kreyn, Evan Kitson, and Rob Zeller.
A book signing of The Figurative Artist’s Handbook by Rob Zeller afterwards. Each of the artists will give brief presentations of complete with images that illustrate their points. They will explain their motivations for drawing, what excites them about the discipline and why it’s an important part of their working practice. When the artists have finished their presentations, they will take questions form the audience. This will be followed by a book-signing for The Figurative Artist’s Handbook by Rob Zeller, which will be available for purchase.
This talk is being done in conjunction with The New Baroque, an exhibit co-curated by Rob Zeller and Casey Gleghorn featuring an astonishing culmination of works by 21 of the most talented contemporary figurative artists working today. Each of the 5 artists speaking is in the exhibit.
“A Passion for Drawing” will be held at Booth Gallery 325 W 38th St #1, New York, NY 10018 from 7pm to 9pm. This event is open to the public. Refreshments are courtesy of The Monacelli Press, the publisher of The Figurative Artist’s Handbook. The New Baroque is on view through January 13th, 2018.
