Artist David Levine moderates a conversation on the use of personae in our domestic, political, and online lives with The New Yorker staff writer and novelist Elif Batuman; art historian Carrie Lambert-Beatty; and journalist, critic, and author Virginia Heffernan. They explore the bots, trolls, rent-a-families, fake crowds, and other parafictional characters blurring distinctions between fact and fiction, fake and real in the 21st century.
This event is free of charge, but please RSVP.
Presented in conjunction with the exhibition David Levine: Some of the People, All of the Time and in partnership with the Onassis Cultural Center New York’s Birds: A Festival Inspired by Aristophanes.
