Photographer Tina Barney on Her Work

Since 1975, Tina Barney has been producing large-scale photographs of family and friends that chronicle the complexity of interpersonal relationships.

Solo shows include a mid-career exhibition at The Museum of Modern Art, NY. Recipient of a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship, 1991, and the 2010 Lucie Award for Achievement in Portraiture.

Included in Seduced by Art, 2012, the first exhibition of photography at London’s National Gallery. Monographs include Tina Barney–Theatre of Manners, The Europeans, and her newest book from Steidl, Players. Barney is represented by Janet Borden, Inc., NY.
