Playing Politics: Dirges For Democracy
“Playing Politics: Dirges For Democracy” is the inaugural concert for Loud Box NYC. The programmed pieces share a political focus ranging from musical settings of Donald Trump’s most offensive tweets to intimately personal art pieces. The goal of the event is to address the current polarizing political climate, as well as to encourage our audience members to vote in the November 8th general election
The featured ensemble is Schiele, a string quartet formed by Molly Aronson, Mujan Hosseinzadeh, Adrianne Munden-Dixon, and Michelle Painter. New works that will be presented are:
Ben MURPHY
-Shades of Sacrifice
Spencer SNYDER
-Trump Tweets
-When Bill Threw FDR’s Wheelchair Down the Stairs
Shelley WASHINGTON
-Say
Michael J. VINCE
-Elegy & Response
