A Power of Immigrant Communities – A Neighborhood Gathering in Brooklyn
By some estimates, more than 800 languages are spoken in New York City – a sure sign of its vibrant and diverse ethnic ties. But current federal policies seek to stem the flow of immigrants and deport others. On March 15 at 6 PM, The New York Women’s Foundation, a champion of community-based solutions for 30 years, will host a Neighborhood Gathering in Brooklyn to discuss “The Power of Immigrant Communities.”
Panelists include Ana Maria Archila, Co-Director, Center for Popular Democracy; Cathy Dang, Executive Director, CAAAV: Organizing Asian Communities; Julia Jean-Francois, LCSW, PhD, Co-Director, Center for Family Life in Sunset Park; and Janis Rosheuvel, Board Vice Chair, Black Alliance for Just Immigration.
