Rosslyn Chapel, a 15th century church, stands about eight miles south of Edinburgh, Scotland, and has drawn great interest over the years for its architecture and carvings both inside and out.

“Kabalah” is usually translated as “what is handed down” or “tradition”. The Austrian philosopher and esotericist Rudolf Steiner gave two very useful introductions to Kabalah, particularly in connection with the Essene teacher Jeschu ben Pandira (circa 100 BCE).

Peter Snow (author of A Rosslyn Treasury) gives an introduction into how Steiner’s view of Kabalah can be seen illustrated in the structure and decoration of the chapel, which also leads directly to a consideration of the Beatitudes from Christ’s Sermon on the Mount.

Peter Snow was born in the UK, and has been a Waldorf teacher and teacher’s educator for thirty years. His poetry has been published internationally, and he has written two books of stories: A Rosslyn Treasury and The Shifty Lad. He has been on the Register of Scottish Storytellers for many years. His interest in Rosslyn Chapel began when he learned about its connections to Holy Grail themes.
