Screening and Q&A: Free to Ride

Free to Ride is a modern-day civil rights saga about the racism embedded in opposition to a public transit expansion. When community members from Dayton, Ohio learn of the dangerous journey faced by bus riders walking across a busy overpass to get to work, they persist against the racial biases of suburban Beavercreek, Ohio.

Unsafe routes to transit are not unique to Dayton – transit riders all over the country risk their lives just to get to a bus stop. Free to Ride shows that changing this is possible, and that a fight for transit can be one of justice, fairness and civil rights.
