The Sunset Park Railroad

Every new railroad starts with one station, a train, and a whole lot of fanfare. Unlike the subway that runs through and around our community, it is our unity that will bring us all together on the U train running exclusively on the Sunset Park Railroad. Help us to make the weekend of June 10th a transformative experience that shows our historic immigrant community they are loved!

“The Sunset Park Railroad” is a community building project that aims to deliver art, literature and make a massive collection of oral histories that will come from churches, mosques, temples, schools, businesses, restaurants, hospitals, factories, our library, the police station, and community-based organizations. The R, N, and D trains may run through and around our global neighborhood, but it is unity that will bring us all together on the U-Train to build common ground for the benefit of all.

On June 10th during three sessions from 3pm to 9pm at the Sunset Park Removal Education Center we will have a mural Fundraising event and introduce our three artists to the community as each takes a turn telling their stories about how they got involved in the art of their ancestors.
