Technology Is Habitat: An Evening of Magic and UFOs STANDBY ONLY

“Technology Is Habitat” will bring together Gordon White, magician and host of the weekly podcast Rune Soup, with Diana Walsh Pasulka, Professor and Chair of the Department of Philosophy and Religion at University of North Carolina, Wilmington, and author of American Cosmic: UFOs, Religion, and Technology. In a conversation moderated by Troy Conrad Therrien, Curator of Architecture and Digital Initiatives, the pair will discuss the recent turn in mainstream culture toward magical thinking as a means to address a range of political, technological, and environmental anxieties.

The program will include artistic interventions and will serve as a prelude to an exhibition on the countryside, opening at the museum in February, 2020.
