Come venture into The Lab, a variety show featuring some of the funniest comedians in New York conducting new experiments in standup, sketch, music, and more!

At each The Lab performance, our hosts aim to answer one of humanity’s greatest questions: What is birds? Why turtleneck? Who is Yahtzee? Hosted by the creators of Drunk Science: Shannon Odell, Joanna Rothkopf, and Jordan Mendoza; featured guests TBA.

Shannon Odell is a Brooklyn-based writer, comedian, and scientist. She has trained and performed at at the Upright Citizens Brigade and the Annoyance Theater. She co-hosts and produces Drunk Science, an experimental comedy show deemed “a stroke of genius” by Gothamist and a finalist in TruTV’s comedy break out initiative. She cowrote and starred in the comedic play “Wake Up with Tina and Gina,” which was a semifinalist in the New York New Works Theater Festival. She created, writes, and stars in the Inverse original series Your Brain on …, which has over five million views. She can also be seen at Weill Cornell Medicine, where she is a Neuroscience PhD candidate studying the epigenetic bases of memory.

Jordan Mendoza is a writer, comedian, and video maker based in New York City. He co-hosts Drunk Science (featured in The New York Times, Gothamist, New York Television Festival), and is a finalist of the truTV Comedy Breakout Initiative. Time Out New York named him a “Rising New York comedian primed to break big.”

Joanna Rothkopf is a comedian, writer, and managing editor at Jezebel.com, where she hosts science video series Pipette, the podcast Big Time Dicks, and regularly appears on Fusion television. Her work has been published in Vanity Fair, The Atlantic, and Salon, among other outlets, and she recently completed a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in Science and Health Journalism at Columbia University. She is managed by Scott Halle at Gramercy Park Entertainment.
