Join New York Adventure Club for a two-part retrospective on the very first four James Bond films, which are widely considered the best in the entire Bond series to-date.
Led by esteemed Bond scholar and pop culture historian Arlen Schumer, part II of this multimedia overview — which will focus on the third and fourth Connery Bond films, Goldfinger (1964) and Thunderball (1965) — will include:
- Why the director of the first two Bond films, Terence Young, did not direct the third — and why Guy Hamilton replaced him
- The controversy surrounding Goldfinger’s premiere, and why it was the last one Sean Connery would attend
- Why Thunderball was supposed to be the very first Bond film instead of Dr. No
