The Writer’s Rock at ICP —”William Klein: YES”

Stuck in your writing practice? Want to start writing but not sure where to start? In need of a little more time or inspiration? Join The Writer’s Rock at The International Center of Photography for an ekphrastic writing night, designed to get you out of your head and onto the page. This one-hour event is built around ICP’s exhibition William Klein: YES; Photographs, Paintings, and Film, 1948–2013 and will use Klein’s large-scale and dynamic photographs from around the world for inspiration. Following an introduction to the exhibit, you’ll be guided through ways to use Klein’s photographs as visual prompts, leading you toward new creative choices in your written work. This laptop-free/handwriting exercise means less editing, less judgment, less distraction, and more writing and discovery.

Tickets to this event are $25, which includes the price of admission to the exhibition. You’re invited to write something new, continue a work-in-progress, or see where the evening takes you. We’ll finish the night with time to share what you’ve written.

All genres welcome, no matter your writing experience.
