Theater of War Presents: End of Life

End of Life is an innovative project that presents dramatic readings of two ancient Greek plays, Sophocles’ Philoctetes and Women of Trachis, as a catalyst for town hall discussions about the ethics and emotions surrounding end of life care.

This interactive event is intended to promote healthy discussions within diverse communities, fostering compassion, cooperation, awareness, and understanding with regard to the management of chronic suffering and the mortality we all share. Moderated by Bryan Doerries, Theater of War Artistic Director and Public Artist in Residence for the City of New York, a joint appointment with the New York City Department of Veterans’ Services and the Department of Cultural Affairs.
