Coming of Age on Broadway: Conversation with Music

Three-time Tony® Award-nominated director Michael Greif brought the groundbreaking musicals “Rent” and “Next to Normal” to Broadway, now he’s done it again with the highly anticipated Broadway premiere of the award-winning musical “Dear Evan Hansen.” Join New York Times theater reporter Michael Paulson for this talk with the director and musical performances from three of his shows. Obie Award-winning actor Ben Platt, also known for the “Pitch Perfect” movies, who again will star as Evan Hansen, will perform a number from the musical. Two other top Broadway actors will perform songs from “Rent” and “Next to Normal,” celebrating 20 years of the director’s hits — accompanied on piano by Alex Lacamoire, who won the 2016 Tony for best orchestrations for his work on Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “Hamilton.”
