Todesco Presents Dances by Duncan, Sokolow, and More

Francesca Todesco, longtime member of the Sokolow Theatre/Dance Ensemble and Dances by Isadora, presents a program of rarely seen dances by Isadora Duncan, Anna Sokolow, Jim May, Catherine Gallant and Rae Ballard.  A native of Switzerland, Todesco celebrates her 20-year journey in the American Modern Dance Scene, joined by an ensemble of ten dancers from the Sokolow Ensemble, Dances by Isadora, and Thoughts in Motion Dance Company.  The program will include an excerpt from Sokolow’s 1970 “Magritte, Magritte”; “Crossing”, “Revolutionary,” and “Mother” by Isadora Duncan; and a world premiere by Rae Ballard set to music by three Portuguese composers.  Saturday performance at 8 PM; Sunday at 3 PM at University Settlement, 184 Eldridge St. NYC 10002.  Tickets at 1.800.838.3006
