Valentina Kozlova, former principal dancer with the Bolshoi Ballet and New York City Ballet, announces the 14th Kozlova Int’l Ballet Competition, with 150 dancers from countries around the world dancing for company contracts and scholarships at dance academies from Sao Paolo to Paris. President of both the Classical and Contemporary Dance Juries is prima ballerina Nina Ananiashvili, and included in the 20 judges are artistic directors of the Boston Ballet, Ballet Hispanico, Graham 2, and more. The Rounds will take place at NYLA: Tuesday April 8 is the Classical Ballet Round; April 9 the Classical Ballet Finals; April 10 is devoted to Contemporary Dance, all starting at 1 PM and going several hours. Audience members are free to arrive and leave as they please; also to step out during the event and return by showing their tickets.
(Gala Performance and announcement of winners will be held April 12 at the John Jay Theater.)
