Winter Solstice 2016

solsticeA two hour singalong ceremony, celebrating the first humans who looked up at the winter sky and thought “where did the sun go, and when is it coming back?” And all the humans ever since who worked to make our world brighter.

This is a family friendly event with refreshments and children’s activities in Ceremonial Hall.

We invite you to return the next morning, Sunday, December 18, at 11 am for our intergenerational Winter Festival, “Let There Be Light.”

Content notes: Mild social pressure to sing. Frank discussion of death and disease in second half after intermission

Doors open at 5:00pm. Ceremony begins at 6 pm
The New York Society for Ethical Culture is a humanist community dedicated to ethical relationships, social justice, and environmental stewardship. Entry to our 100-year-old building and meeting rooms is wheelchair accessible.
