World Science Festival | Stewards of the Earth: Hope for Our Planet

Sylvia Earle and E. O. Wilson have devoted their lives to illuminating life that strides across the Earth, burrows through its surface, and swims in the depths of its oceans. Now, with species disappearing at the fastest rate in history, these two renowned stewards of Earth’s precious living resources are joined by anthropologist Jenny Newell, curator of Pacific Ethnology at the American Museum of Natural History, and visual artist Lynette Wallworth for a rallying event about what we humans can—and must—do to save our wondrous planet.

The first 100 people who arrive will have the option to attend a screening of “Collisions,” a stunning virtual reality short documentary that tells the story of a culture whose future was dramatically altered by humans on the other side of the world.

Doors for the optional screening, held in the Cullman Hall of the Universe at the American Museum of Natural History, open at 5:30pm.

Doors for the discussion, held at the LeFrak Theater, open at 6:45pm.

Each ticket holder is entitled to receive a complimentary drink in the Cullman Hall of the Universe, which may be used between 5:30 and 6:30pm.

This program is produced in collaboration with the American Museum of Natural History.
