Chen Dance Center’s “newsteps”

Chen Dance Center, at 70 Mulberry St. in Chinatown (second floor, at the corner of Bayard St.), presents “newsteps,” its semi-annual emerging choreographers series. Selected by open audition, the choreographers for the May 7-9 concerts are Jonathan Breton, Hannah Cohen, Bree Nasby, Janice Rosario, and Ashley Carter and Vanessa Martinez de Banos.   Each receives a rehearsal space grant, an honorarium, and are produced in three public performance at the Chen Dance Center. Since initiating this program in 1994, the Center has supported and presented over 250 young artists developing new work.

$12, $10 for students/seniors
