Colloquy on Patriotism

Dr. Anne Klaeysen, Leader
Andra Miller Presides

The Fourth of July is a time for celebration. Parades, picnics and fireworks abound. It’s also an opportunity to reflect upon independence and freedom. What do those concepts mean in a country that still struggles with racism, misogyny and inequality? How can we both love our homeland and dissent its policies? Patriotism takes many forms. Together we will share our thoughts, feelings and experiences.

Followed by Introduction to Friedman’s Fables class at 1pm in the Adler Study, Room 514.

Entry to our 100-year-old building and meeting rooms is available for most wheelchair users with prior arrangements. Please call ahead  (212-874-5210 x107) for setup of our portable system and plan to arrive one hour before start time.
