Commemorating the Assassination of El-Hajj Malik El Shabazz/Malcolm X 

Malcolm X wrote that Fidel Castro “achieved a psychological coup over the U.S. State Department when it confined him to Manhattan, never dreaming that he’d stay uptown in Harlem and make such an impression among the Negroes.” In collaboration with the Malcolm X Museum, this program will explore the impact of Malcolm X’s invitation to Fidel Castro on liberation movements in the African diaspora, and in today’s social climate in the wake of Castro’s death.
