On March 2, 2016, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt (formerly Cole). Seen by many as a case that could have a monumental impact on the right to choose, the case stems from a challenge to a Texas TRAP law, HB2.
TRAP laws (or Targeted Regulations of Abortion Providers) are spreading across America.
Faced with increased costs of compliance and the alarming fear of violence from
protestors, the stakes for the women and men on the frontlines couldn’t be any
higher.
TRAPPED follows the clinic workers and lawyers — including those who
took their case to the Supreme Court in March — who are fighting to
keep abortion safe and legal for millions of American women, many of whom are
poor and uninsured.
The Supreme Court’s decision is expected later in June.
