Author Sue Rainey’s new book, Creating A World on Paper: Harry Fenn’s Career in Art, has just been published by the University of Massachusetts Press. Fenn was a member of the Montclair, NJ, art colony established in the late 19th century with the likes of George Inness and his son, George Inness Jr.; F.S. Church; Jonathan Scott Hartley; Clara McChesney; Walter Greenough; and Emilie Koehler Greenough. Her lecture includes a fascinating history of the development of graphic pictorial techniques and the role of scenic illustration.
