The Kindred Talks: How Shall We Speak of Our Fathers?

The Kindred Talks explores the links between arts and activism on the complex topics raised by MAPP International’s productions, such as climate change, immigration, and more. These public forums gather artists and activists whose work shares a common theme of urgent meaning to us all—as individuals and as a community. How Shall We Speak of Our Fathers? is a conversation on honoring, examining, and memorializing the family patriarch, whose influence can transcend death, with four creators whose projects were inspired by their late fathers: photographer Enrico Dungca, hip-hop theater artist Baba Israel, visual artist/poet Tenzing Rigdol, and director Kaneza Schaal. Moderated by author/activist Ilyasah Shabazz, daughter of Malcolm X.

Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Presented in collaboration with MAPP International Productions
