Public Lands: An American Legacy

publiclandsLeader Curt Collier
Dan Hanson presides
America was the first country to create national parks and continues to expand protection each year.  Seemingly at odds with our other legacy of Manifest Destiny, displacement and land grabbing by private individuals Americans seem to have a passion for preservation.   What are the roots of this phenomenon, is it changing and how can we use these sentiments in the service of further environmental protections including our air, soil, water and lands beyond our borders.
Entry to our 100-year-old building and meeting rooms is available for most wheelchair users with prior arrangements. Please call ahead  (212-874-5210 x107) for setup of our portable system and plan to arrive one hour before start time.
