On Isaac Mizrahi: A Talk and Tour

Throughout his three-decade career, Isaac Mizrahi has melded high and low culture, cross-pollinated art forms, and mined his upbringing for inspiration.

On view at the Jewish Museum from March 18 – August 7, 2016, Isaac Mizrahi: An Unruly History is the first museum exhibition devoted to the American fashion designer, artist and entrepreneur. The show weaves together the threads of Mizrahi’s prolific output, featuring clothing, shoes, accessories and costumes for theater and dance alongside Mizrahi’s sketches and Nick Waplington’s candid behind-the-scenes photographs offering an expansive view of Mizrahi’s artistry, and allowing audiences to experience the playful energy of a fashion visionary. Kelly Taxter, Assistant Curator at the Jewish Museum speaks about the process putting together this expansive view of Mizrahi’s artistry here at 92Y, before a walk over to the Jewish Museum where she will leads a brief tour of the exhibition.
