A Culinary History of Jews in America based on the Astrological Signs of the Delicatessen

With Seth Front, a screenwriter, comedy writer and entrepreneur. This multimedia presentation is a humorous and heartwarming history of four generations of American Jews, from 1890 to the present, which uses the metaphor of the deli (and its history) to describe the changes: from arrival to adaptation, then assimilation to rediscovery of roots. The interactive lecture uses over one hundred images to tell the history of the Jewish deli in America, from its origins on the Lower East Side at the turn of the 20th century, its adaptation to American tastes, its assimilation into mainstream American culture and finally to the challenges facing delis for survival in the 21st century.

The Jewish Zodiac, a deli food parody of the Chinese zodiac, was created and is owned by the author, who conceived the idea and wrote all the text for the symbols. The Jewish Zodiac is for fun, to have a laugh and enjoy and you don’t have to be Jewish to believe in The Jewish Zodiac.
