Bar owner Natalka Burian talks with Lenora Lapidus, Director of the ACLU Women’s Rights Project, Morgan Jerkins, author of This Will Be My Undoing, feminist author and journalist Jessica Valenti, and editor Camaren Subhiyah, all contributors to A Woman’s Drink as they share stories and recipes about bold drinks for bold women while sipping mezcal.
Inspired by Burian’s Brooklyn bars, Elsa and Ramona, these powerful women break down the traditional “boys club” of mixology and cocktail culture for an empowering approach to mixing unapologetically strong feminine drinks in style—whether you’re drinking alone, in a group, on a plane, or to get over … so many things. Learn more about classics like Cosmos and Negronis, as well as new spins like Elderflower Bellinis—strong, spirited, and bold cocktails, just like the women who drink them.
The event will feature a tasting of Gem & Bolt Mezcal, a liquid spirit lovingly born of tradition, myth, art, and invention coupled with plant and elixir wisdom, created by female artist alchemist duo Adrinadrina & Elliott Coon.
A book signing follows the event.
