Katherine Taylor: ARTic Creatures

Artist Katherine Taylor explores her latest work “ARTic Creatures,” inspired by several factors: her residency with the Arctic Circle Program, which brings together international artists, scientists, architects, and educators to learn and collaborate in the field; her time with Project Puffin, a volunteer effort of the National Audubon Society to restore nesting grounds to the puffins of Maine; and her examination of specimens at the American Museum of Natural History. The talk will be an in depth look at how the work was created, despite having had to evacuate the island where Taylor does her molding when a polar bear decided to come for a studio visit.
Free to the public with RSVP.
