Clive Francis in Conversation
In preparation for an April event in Westminster Abbey, when a floor plaque in honor of Sir John Gielgud will be dedicated in Poets’ Corner, the National Arts Club presents a conversation with Clive Francis, an actor who has played leading roles with the Royal Shakespeare Company, and who has appeared in dozens of feature films and BBC television programs that have delighted American audiences, among them A Clockwork Orange, Poldark, Sense and Sensibility, Masada, Yes, Prime Minister, and The Crown.
Topics to be addressed include Sir John: The Many Faces of Gielgud, a 90th-birthday collection by Francis that featured anecdotes from many of the actor’s most distinguished theatrical colleagues, among them Judi Dench, Alec Guinness, and Maggie Smith.
Please note: This event will be held virtually. Details for accessing the program will be sent upon registration.
