Consider Bardwell Farm

Learn the history of Vermont’s first dairy co-op at the National Arts Club.

Located in West Pawlet, VT, Bardwell Farm is a three-hundred acre farm established in 1864 by Consider Stebbins Bardwell. It became Vermont’s first dairy co-op, called The Pawlet Cheese Company.

Angela Miller and her husband purchased the farm in 2001, opened the creamery in 2004, and are revitalizing the tradition with pasture-based raw milk from cows with the support of their neighbor farm partner. Both have worked to make CBF a nationally recognized brand of fine cheeses. Miller is a founding partner at Miller Bowers Griffin Literary Management and an affiliated agent with Folio Literary Management where she works with many celebrated culinary writers and chefs, as well as many literary authors.
