LIVE from NYPL | Colm Tóibín with Caoilinn Hughes: Long Island

Colm Tóibín will speak with fellow Irish author Caoilinn Hughes (whose new novel The Alternatives will be published this year) about his long awaited follow-up to the novel Brooklyn, which continues the journey of Irish expat Eilis Lacey twenty years later. Married to Tony Fiorello with two teenage children living on a cul-de-sac in Lindenhurst, Long Island with her husband’s extended family, Eilis receives a visit from an Irishman claiming his own wife is pregnant with Tony’s child, and when the baby is born it will be deposited on her doorstep.
