August 2020 will mark the centennial of a pivotal moment in this country’s history–the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment, granting women the right to vote in political elections. It was a hard-fought victory for the tenacious advocates at the center of the issue, whose decades of social agitation eventually changed the country’s political and social structure forever. Join Museum educator Barry Feldman for this online discussion exploring the 150 year social, civic and political course of the suffrage movement including the resistance to and advocacy for the amendment. This lecture is an introduction to a five-part program, “Who Is A Woman Of Valor?”, to be offered fall 2020 at the Museum.
This session will be conducted virtually using Zoom. All attendees will receive a private link and instructions to use Zoom prior to the event.Buy tickets/get more info now
