America’s Next Top Cult is a monthly live comedy competition that lets the audience decide between four cults dreamed up by New York City’s best comedians. A panel of judges comprising two comedians and an actual expert on religion provide commentary on the cults and their paths to salvation. It’s like American Idol meets Wild Wild Country, or if Heaven’s Gate had to present their doctrines to Simon Cowell. It’s the only comedy show in the city that offers an equal chance at spiritual enlightenment and tragic demise.
