Antisemitism: Here, Now… Always | An Evening with Deborah Lipstadt

The horrific shootings at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh left our community reeling with unanswered questions:

Have we been naive to believe that Americans Jews no longer need to worry about anti-Semitism?

Is there nothing we can do to stop the bigotry?

Is antisemitism the hate that will never die?

In her latest book, Antisemitism: Here and NowDr. Deborah Lipstadt wrestles with those disturbing dilemmas in a series of letters to an imagined college student and an imagined university professor. She will discuss her answers with you — and address the other fears that we are almost afraid to admit.

Professor of Modern Jewish History and Holocaust Studies at Emory University, Dr. Lipstadt is best known for her books Denying the Holocaust — which won the Jewish Book Award — and History on Trial. The legal battle she fought against a Holocaust denier who sued her for libel became the film Denial.
