Astronomy Live: Rendezvous with ISON

Comet ISON will come within just 750,000 miles of the Sun’s surface on Thanksgiving Day: Thursday, Nov. 28. That’s more than 100 times closer to the Sun than Earth!

This close pass to the Sun might cause Comet ISON to break into pieces; but if it stays intact, Comet ISON should become very bright.

It might even become bright enough to be seen from Earth even in the daytime, and may go on to have a dazzling showing in December, as you’ll learn in this talk by Joe Rao.

When: Tue., Nov. 26, 2013 at 6:30 pm
Where: American Museum of Natural History
Central Park West at 79th Street
212-769-5100
Price: $15; $13.50 seniors and students; $12 members
